Code of Conduct

All participants attending the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 are subject to applicable law, including Kenyan law. By attending the Summit, participants also agree to adhere to these Principles and Values of Summit Participation.

The Summit will provide support and space for meaningful participation to enable a broad spectrum of viewpoints and constructive dialogue. Individuals who are part of the Nairobi Summit must not engage in behaviour that the Summit organizers might deem to be potentially disruptive to the conduct of the Summit. Harassment, discrimination and any form of abuse is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Action that involves the use or threat of physical force or the destruction of property is strictly prohibited. 

Accreditation. The organizers reserve the right to refuse accreditation or admission to the Nairobi Summit if an individual or group has previously advocated, supported, or engaged in violent actions or destructive behavior. Additionally, during the Nairobi Summit, the organizers reserve the right to revoke the name badge, Summit registration and associated materials, and therefore deny access to participants who are in violation of these Principles.

Video and audio recording. Written approval must be obtained from the organizers prior to the conference to record video or audio of any part of the Summit with the intention of commercial use. 

Procedures involving disruptions at the Summit

Application of the law. The Nairobi Summit participants are subject to the laws applicable in Kenya. Physical force or threats of physical force or destruction of property by Summit participants will not be tolerated and will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law. Additionally, the response may include escorting participants from the Summit venue.

Withdrawal of accreditation. In the event of disruption or action that does not respect these Principles, the organizers may withdraw a participant’s accreditation and name badge, and suspend or cancel the participant’s access to the Summit. 

Public statement. In the event that freedom of expression is abused, discrimination or harassment is undertaken, property is destroyed or physical force is used or threatened by a participant, the organizers may issue a public statement concerning the action that reflects the Principles and Values of Summit Participation.

Harassment

All participants attending the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 must adhere to the Code of Conduct to Prevent Harassment, including Sexual Harassment, at UN System Events that reflects the United Nations zero tolerance policy for harassment.
